Season 1, Episode 9
Shao Kahn resurrects Shang Tsung and entrusts him the sphere controlling elements of the nature (fire,wind,water and earth). Shang Tsung is the most suitable person to possess the sphere, because the more malicious the master is, the stronger becomes the magic of sphere. The old enemy of good organizes different natural disasters and weakens Raiden. Warriors of Earth being entrapped, nobody can help the God of Thunder. Thus, he is the one who has to decide the fate of the world. But the good, even thought it grew weak, becomes stronger than the evil, strengthened with forces of magic. Having defeated Shang Tsung, Raiden sends the sphere to Netherealm.

After barely escaping a world engulfed in flames, the Sliders now find themselves in a Los Angeles dependent on the sale and production of oil. Unfortunately, they learn they've brought along a piece of the fire from the last world and that it has a mind of it's own.

Short-handed, Gee investigates the Widmer homicide at the Waterfront Bar. Bayliss' homicide is unidentified for 48 hours before she is identified as being Rath. Lewis and Munch investigate a car jacking at Federal Hill, where the mother is the victim and the 3-year-old daughter in the car at the time is missing. Meanwhile, Howard, Kellerman and Pembleton stay behind. Frank interviews the two witnesses that Tim had in for questioning and gets a lead on a suspect. Cox joins the support group meeting late; she is still coping with the death of her father.

However, she realizes she must tell Darryl the truth after Synclaire catches Tina making out with the best man. Darryl believes that Regine is jealous, but soon re-considers and calls off the wedding. Tina blames Regine, and the two nearly come to blows in the church. Meanwhile, Annie gets an internship at the plant and gets some romantic ideas of her own.
