Laura is still refusing to return to Ian and Emily helps her out by finding her employment at a mill. There Laura finds out just how hard the working conditions are for women in the 19th century. However, Ian finds out where she is and tries to force her to return back to his home. When Emily and Ilse find this out they go to visit her at the mill but Laura appears to have disappeared.

The Hedgehogs learn that the Doo-bot is equipped with a recording device and dash to retrieve the tape from the Doo-bot before the secret location is disclosed.

An ally of sorts then comes to Emily's help and her future takes a turn for the good, but things aren't so good for Laura who discovers something unexpected.
